Calathea musaica

With a leaf unlike any other, Calathea musaica has a distinctive mosaic pattern throughout the foliage. Foliage sits atop of long stems, and curls over slightly to create a somewhat intriguing shape.  Grow this neat foliage plant as a feature plant indoors or as a patio plant, just ensure it is kept away from direct sunlight.

Calathea musaica can also be planted outdoors in the garden, ideally in a subtropical garden where it will thrive in warmer temperatures. Keep moist during the warmer months and ensure good drainage.  Allow the plant to dry out slightly between waterings in the winter. Fertilise during the warmer months with a slow-release indoor plant fertiliser.

Grows to 50cm tall, 60cm wide.
