With broad orb-shaped foliage, this Calathea is a must-have for plant collectors who adore foliage plants. Foliage emerges in a cigar shape, unfurling to reveal bold striped leaves that have a shimmery quality.
Grows indoors as a feature plant or outdoors under the protection of a patio or in a shaded/filtered light position in the garden. Calatheas grow best in tropical/subtropical conditions. Keep moist during the warmer months and ensure good drainage. Allow the plant to dry out slightly between waterings in the winter. Feed during the growing season with a slow-release indoor plant fertiliser.
