Curcuma Siam Shadow

Curcuma ‘Siam Shadow’ is an ornamental ginger that produces bold flower spikes that will add instant impact to your garden. Flower spikes are made up of brightly coloured purple bracts tipped with burgundy. Tiny mauve day flowers emerge from the lower bracts. Flower spikes emerge from long leafy foliage in late spring until autumn. Foliage has a distinctive red line through the midrib.

Plant Curcuma ‘Siam Shadow’ in a position that gets filtered light or light shade, or keep in pots on a patio or verandah. They look amazing planed en masse where they can provide a swathe of colour in the garden. As curcumas are perennial plants, expect foliage to die down in mid to late autumn. Avoid watering the rhizomes during winter to prevent them rotting if they are planted in a pot.

  KEEP ME In a pot outdoors on a patio/balcony away from direct sunlight.   WATER ME Enough to keep me moist, but don't let my roots get too soggy. FEED ME A liquid fertiliser during periods of growth.
